Job Description:
We are representing a leading international construction company in their search for a highly experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of electrical substation projects. This role is ideal for a professional with a proven track record in managing complex electrical infrastructure projects, particularly with the Saudi Electric Company (SEC).
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Lead and manage the complete project lifecycle for electrical substation projects, including planning, design, procurement, execution, and commissioning.
- Develop comprehensive project schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Utilize KPIs and industry-standard project management practices to monitor and optimize performance.
- Ensure compliance with SEC standards, regulatory requirements, and quality benchmarks.
2. Technical Leadership
- Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications for critical substation components such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to address technical challenges and enhance project designs.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to boost efficiency and operational performance.
3. Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, particularly SEC, fostering strong relationships through effective communication.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee project documentation, including reports, permits, and contractual deliverables.
4. Risk and Compliance Management
- Identify and mitigate risks related to safety, quality, and environmental factors throughout the project.
- Ensure alignment with SEC standards, Saudi regulations, and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
- Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to safety and quality protocols.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, and site personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BS in EE).
- Experience:
- 15–20 years of experience in electrical substation projects.
- At least 5 years in project management roles.
- SEC approval or significant experience managing SEC projects is mandatory.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of SEC standards, processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP certification preferred).
- Expertise in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Deep knowledge of substation components, electrical protection systems, and high-voltage equipment.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NFPA).
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (preferred but not mandatory).
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in the GCC region, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
- Knowledge of renewable energy integration into substation projects (optional but advantageous).
