Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Control Centre Operator to manage and oversee the operation of water assets and telemetry systems through the Intelligent Water Management System (IWMS). This vital role requires proactive monitoring, quick responses to alarms, and ensuring that water services are delivered efficiently, meeting established KPIs and service targets. The operator will work closely with internal teams and external contractors to maintain optimal operations, safety, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate water assets through IWMS, responding swiftly to alarms and system anomalies.
- Safeguard water infrastructure by identifying and addressing unauthorized access using access control and CCTV.
- Ensure the optimal functioning of water infrastructure, achieving KPIs for reliable service delivery.
- Coordinate planned works and manage access permits in alignment with operational procedures.
- Respond promptly to unplanned events and faults, minimizing the impact on service reliability.
- Collaborate with external contractors, sectors, and regulatory bodies, including desalination plants, for seamless operations.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across all activities managed by the control center.
- Oversee the compliance of work permits and assess qualifications for operational tasks.
- Respond to safety incidents using structured response plans to protect public health and infrastructure.
- Generate and analyze performance reports to assess operational efficiency against KPIs.
Preferred Candidate:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in operational roles, such as Control Room Operator or Analyst in water utilities.
- Strong understanding of operational planning, incident management, and emergency response.
- Advanced proficiency with real-time systems like SCADA, telemetry, and IoT technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement and customer-centric service delivery.
Skills:
- Expertise in monitoring and managing IWMS and SCADA systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities for operational efficiency and safety.
